Bowling is just as meaningless as any other sport. Bowling is throwing a ball down a oiled lane of wood or synthetic materials to try and knock down 10 pins. Soccer is just trying to kick a ball into a net, hockey is hitting a puck with a stick into a net, baseball is hitting a ball with a bat, and so on. All sports are meaningless, but they are entertaining. I love bowling and if nothing else you can drink while you do it and it’s not nearly as slow paced as golf.

My Dad grew up bowling in Altoona. I bowled when I was in high school until I was standing at the front of the lane one day holding the ball and getting ready to roll when I had an epiphany about how boring and meaningless bowling is. I think being an attorney, Obama has already paid his boring dues, you go Mr President-Elect!

fyi: Oatman isn’t the first African-American PBA member, nor the first to win titles: George Branham, i think, was the first to win a title back in the 90s, and i’m pretty sure (though i can’t remember a name at the moment) there were a few black players back in the 70s…

There wasn’t an ep about bowling, but there was one about Pres. Bartlett playing basketball. Which, actually, led to one my favorite quotes in the series.
