If You Had Money Vol. 1, Ed. 1, Iss. 12
Posted on December 17th, 2008 by Mike under toss the burnerEach Wednesday, I post a weekly update to the digest “If You Had Money”, which shows the sporting goods and memorabilia you could purchase if disposable income was no longer a thing of the past. Each week, it will inevitably leave you wanting…
Before we get into it, let me remind you that the government owes you mmmmmmonney.
Now, our most scandalous investment opportunity yet…
For 2.6 million clams, this Ebay seller known as aporguy will sell you the negatives of the infamous hot tub photos that featured three starters from the 1989-90 UNLV College Basketball team (Moses Scurry, Anderson Hunt, and David Butler) and Richard Perry, aka “Richie the Fixer”, who was once convicted in a NCAA point shaving scandal and whose name is part of the Black Book of people banned from Nevada casinos. The photos were taken in 1989 shortly before the start of UNLV’s National Championship run that season (Photos tie Rebels to `The Fixer’).
They make it abundantly clear that should you purchase these, you are not to reprint them lest you want to feel the law rain down on you (i.e. they’ll bury you out here).
However, they’ll throw in a massive 30 x 40” print of each for you to show off.
…..
A friendly reminder, I’m running a poll for the Worst Sports Memorabilia You Own this week. Send your submissions here.

I don’t know if you’ve already done so, but I highly recommend signing up for the eBay referral program. Just think of the commission you’d earn is someone purchased that $2.6M auction by clicking through from your site. Hey…you never know!

Not that it matters, but one of the names is wrong. Moses Scurry. Not Moses Perry.
