Secretariat was not this horse's sire. The Triple Crown winner was euthanized in 1989 and unless Freedom Flight was foaled in 1990, there is no possible way FF is the direct son of Secretariat. To have been sired by THE Secretariat, Freedom Flight would have turned 18 in 2008. I noticed Secretariat was spelled differently in the article, Secratariat. Maybe this Secratariat sired Freedom Flight, but the greatest Thoroughbred of the last 50 years certainly did not. That should not take away from what happened to Freedom Flight and what happens to thousands of losing Thoroughbreds around the world every day. Only a handful can be money makers, on the track or in the breeding barn, the rest are thrown away.

Thank You for another very interesting article. I must say that I really enjoyed reading all of Your articles. It’s interesting to read ideas, and observations from someone else’s point of view… it makes you think more.

That story is awesome....We are actually in the process of buying Espirit De Sierra which is one of Seattle Slew's grand-daughter. I am not sure how she showed up in Tennessee. But, we are glad to have her as part of the family.
