After an inauspicious exit in 2009, Brian Wilson is back on Twitter. When did this glorious event occur?

To be precise, Feb 2. I didn’t find out about it until yesterday, March 2nd – when I investigated who Charlie Sheen is following.

Good to have Brian back and currently tweeting shout-outs to area codes and developing Twitter relationships with other crazy guys.

That’s not the Mets dark new approach to promoting their Holiday Three Game Pick-A-Pack. It’s fiction, perhaps created by the guys behind The Apple, probably the funniest (maybe the only) satirical Mets blog out there. I wonder what Matt Cerrone thinks about this holiday message.

Seriously though, who’d want to blow up Citi Field? Their tacos are delicious.

A few blogs picked up on how hauntingly enigmatic Wilson is, and then the initiative kind of fizzled. I can’t believe it’s for lack of interest in the facial conundrum.

Wilson, himself, hasn’t answered a question in two days. I just posed the straight-forward inquiry: Care to comment on Cliff Lee coming back to the Phillies and the National League, Brian?

We’ll see if he takes the bait. I’m on something of a hot streak having athletes respond to my quips.

To keep commemorating the World Series, a group of San Fran-based bands and record label True Panther have put together a victory mix called Finally Champions. It features mostly unreleased tracks with , such as Giants Defiance by Vinnie Rat, Finally Champions by Dominant Legs, and Book It by Ezeetiger & The Sound Guys – a group I could see Brian Wilson subscribing to for his pregame relaxation mix.

Apparently Marilyn Manson, actor, has gone method – kind of. According to Interview, he’s been walking around dressed like Kenny Powers, being rude to people a la Kenny, and wants to kidnap Danny McBride.

I’m not entirely sure what that last bit has to do with Manson, as Kenny would say, wanting to be me, but the point is his next on-screen appearance will not be in Eastbound (as some might assume), but a slasher film called Splatter Sisters where he plays a metal band leader named Lars.

I guess he felt he did enough method-preparation for the role of Lars in the 90′s.

Here’s what director Adam Bhala Lough, the man behind Splatter Sisters, told Interview:

“Whenever I see Manson, he’s repeating entire chunks of dialogue and dressed like Kenny,” says Lough. ”He just walks around dressed like this and fucks with people on the street. If a waiter or valet tells him, ‘Have a nice day,” he’ll respond, ‘Don’t tell me what to do.’ Stuff like that.”

It’s all very insane, but, at the same time great promotion – again, kind of. Great promotion for the upcoming second season of Eastbound &  Down; I guess he felt Manson as Lars in Splatter Sisters sells itself.

Somewhere along the way, I’d forgotten that The Ref had a verified Twitter account, that is until he called Stephen Slater a ‘bag nazi’ and a ‘super slider earlier today. I apologize for not paying attention, Denis, because you’re first rate on Twitter; in the past week he hit the nail on the head re Whoopi Goldberg, Eat Pray Love and Snooki.

Yesterday, Leary put it to Alex Rodriguez nicely, using his own brand of scientific analysis to compare A-Rod to the past stars in a series of tweets dubbed ‘If the Old Stars Had Steroids’:

If you’re interested in that old school ‘No Cure For Cancer’ brand of Leary, follow him on Twitter. Also, Rescue Me is starting to pick up this season too if you ask me.

He could jump another few percentage points if the Collins original became his walk-up music.

Is this something that’s universally listed on every team’s website? It should be. I did some not-great research, and could only find a listing of the 2008 Detroit Tigers entrance music. However, a coworker of mine who was at the Yankee game last night at least confirms that a certain captain comes out to this song…

This is not an April Fools joke.

Those dastardly auctioneers, Memory Lane Inc., are selling Thurman Munson’s pilot license for the buy it now price of $16,500.

OK. Thurman Munson died in a plane crash in 1979, at age 32 as the captain of the Yankees. He was baseball’s Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I’m not so much sickened that someone’s trying to make a buck off this (maybe because of my coarse hatred of the Yankees), but this is pretty atrocious.
