There were more humorous moments from the Today Show – Charlie Sheen interview – like when he referred to himself having “tiger blood” and “adonis DNA” in the same sentence – but this part really captured the crazy. I can’t wait for Part 2 tomorrow.

I saw this on SportsCenter this morning, and immediately wanted to hear it again when I got to work. Hats off to Reds Army for tracking down the goods. This is the caliber of pregame speech that makes Kevin Garnett skip the lay-up lines in favor of spending warm-ups head-butting the hoop’s pole pad.

Reds raises an interesting point – who is that Celtics roster member who aptly responds nope after Ray’s fightin’ words?

I care very little about tonight’s NBA All Star game. However, I wouldn’t have minded being at the 1983 game to see Kareem, Magic, Bird, Dr. J, Isaiah and hear Marvin Gaye’s soul-drenched version of The Star Spangled Banner.

Groban’s tonight will be less memorable.

A car and a Blake Griffin were on a basketball court at the same time. I think you know the rest.

On Monday night, Shaq led the Boston Pops orchestra in three songs as conductor. It was the latest stunt in his season long quest to immerse himself hilariously in the New England culture. As a native New Englander, I have three words for the big bandleader: Revolutionary. War. Reenactment.

Reebok, John Wall create NBA All-Star 2011 shoe design contest

If there’s an NBA fan out there who’s also a color palette enthusiast, I have found a contest where you have a decisive advantage, my friend.

John Wall and Reebok are running a contest to design a pair of ZigSlash sneakers on Reebok.com for Wall to wear All-star weekend in Los Angeles. The design options are extensive, but I personally just enjoyed hitting the ‘randomize’ button and playing with the shoe rotator.

Do you prefer patent leather, synthetic leather or nubuck for the quarter? Is your Zigtech (the campy looking sole technology) speckled or unshackled? What color would you like your tongue, tongue overlay and tongue logo to be? Basically, you can design a sneaker that’s about 50 colors. And if John Wall doesn’t pick yours, you can still purchase them from Reebok.com for $125.

10 finalists (doesn’t specify how they’re picked, though Reebok encourages you to share your shoes on Facebook and generate likes from your friends) will win a pair of their customized ZigSlash shoes. John Wall will pick his favorite for All-Star 2011, and the winner gets flown out to Los Angeles to watch him duggie in them first hand.

I also learned that Reebok calls the parts of their logo the side stripe and cross check, which is good intel (for when I’m discussing my design direction with Wall in L.A.).

The Basketball Jones deserves to be lauded for their performance today

They’d probably prefer a link on SI.com Hot Clicks to this, but just wanted to take an opportunity to point out that NBA blog The Basketball Jones is murdering the game today with their Lebron coverage.

If you’re interested in what went down at Quicken Loans Arena last night, you should really check them out today. I poached some of their best content for the purposes of this blog post, including a pic of my favorite sign from the game last night (’11-8?? Looks Like You Left Your Talents in Cleveland’) and a soon-to-be widely viewed video of the Cleveland coaching staff telling Lebron to STFU that Tas Melas tweeted earlier.

TBJ’s latest podcast is also a must today. They talk to Yahoo! Sports’ esteemed Adrian Wojnarowski, one of straightest shooters in NBA writing. Skeets and Melas are hilarious as usual. The TBJ Overdose is in my Top-3 podcasts, along with Dan Levy’s On the DL and Bill Simmons’ B.S. Report. What other great sports podcasts are out there? (Leave for me in the comments)

I have a hard time believing that Kevin Love had a hard time with the ladies growing up. With those Color Me Badd good looks?

Congratulations, Minnesota fans. Not only do you have yourself a power forward capable of grabbing 31 rebounds in a game. But he’s uninhibited to the point that he’ll talk about peeing the bed for the sake of a Timberwolves.com production.

Etsy peddling NBA Player LEGO necklaces

For reasons unknown, it’s becoming obscure trinket week here at Steady Burn.

In far more obscure news than the GMU bobbleheads, internet-based, handmade wares resellers Etsy is selling a line of NBA themed LEGO likenesses as necklaces.

The likenesses include Allen Iverson, Shaq, Steve Nash, Vince Carter…and yes, 3-time NBA All-Star and most recently a member of the Guaynabo Mets in Puerto Rico, Antoine Walker (seen above).

There are also several unidentified team-specific necklaces – they are very unidentifiable.

These are available for $12 bucks from Etsy seller and LEGO jewelry lover BrickYourNeck.

Dan Gilbert to start a boot camp in Cleveland

Relax, it’s a business boot camp. And say what you want about how cheesy and comic sansy Dan Gilbert is, but I know I’m not the majority owner of anything other than my collection of nerd gadgets.

The name Bizdom U could use some work however. From Cleveland.com…

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Dan Gilbert, the majority owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, announced today that he will bring a non-profit entrepreneurship boot camp called Bizdom U to downtown Cleveland next year.

Gilbert made the announcement while visiting Cleveland to accept the 2010 Ruth Ratner Miller Award from the Downtown Cleveland Alliance. The annual award recognizes people who have made major achievements in advancing and enhancing the center city.

Bizdom U is a four-month to six-month training program in subjects including marketing, sales and finance. During the training process, the entrepreneurs develop plans for businesses that must be located within the urban core. Gilbert founded the program in Detroit in 2007 and plans to open up the first Cleveland boot camp to as many as 20 entrepreneurs in 2011.

As an aside, Gilbert would also like you to know he still doesn’t regret that letter to the fans he posted on the Cavs website at the end of last season, as he told ESPN Radio this morning.

That’s great I say, now write more of them, Dan (why do you think I Googled your name today in the first place?)
