Steve Nash, NBA Stars to Play Charity Soccer Match in Lower Manhattan, Tomorrow, 6/23

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Before you get too excited, let me just preface by saying that the Pre-Showdown brunch is $5,000 per, and the After-Match drinking with Nash and Claudio Reyna requires a minimum $250 donation. If you’re only a high roller in training like me and you’re in Lower Manhattan tomorrow, you should probably consider just going down to the free event. I’ll be the guy snapping pics with the HTC Incredible and scowling at Tony Parker. Here’s the full detail:

NBA stars.  Soccer’s best.  An urban field.  A sweet 8-a-side game of futbol in the middle of a city benefiting children’s programs on three continents.

Steve brings his passion to play in this innovative match that any sports fan will love.  Showcasing athletes from two sports, Showdown is the beautiful game at its most creative.  With international rosters that have included Steve Nash, Thierry Henry, Claudio Reyna, Tony Parker, Adrian Mutu, Grant Hill, Ivan Cordoba, Baron Davis, Javier Zanetti, Ryan Babel, Salomon Kalou, Simone Sandri, Martin Nash, Mathieu Flamini, Edgar Davids and Chris Bosh the Showdowns are events not to be missed!

The Showdown in Chinatown is a free to the public event located on Chrystie St. and Stanton St. on the lower east side.  Steve Nash, Claudio Reyna, Tony Parker, Simone Motto, Brandon Jennings, Giuseppe Rossi and more!

Chris Bosh is allegedly decent, but I bet I can capture a photo of him looking goofy. Check out this recap video from last year’s tournament featuring Bosh:

Erick Dampier Plans To Inflict Pain on Tony Parker

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

The Mavericks got it pushed in last night ( lost to the Spurs 84-105 in game two of their first round playoff series ), and the frustration compelled Mavs center Erick Dampier to deliver this gem of a post game quote:

“Parker got into the teeth of our defense and caused problems,” he said. “Every time he drives the lane, we have to put him on his back. The first foul has to tell him he’s in for a long night.

“My first foul Thursday night is going to put him on his back. I guarantee it.”

Sweet plan, Clubber Lange.

I hate Tony Parker. It’s a well documented hate, but in case you didn’t know him and I have the same birthday, which makes him exactly one-year older than me. And short of having a better beard, he pretty much one-ups me in every dept. (NBA Titles, NBA Finals MVPs, Eva Longorias, etc.). Plus, the Spurs are the boringest basketball show on Earth.

It’s an involved hatred, and with that in mind I can honestly say that this quote by Dampier directed towards my mortal enemy is the most clownish display of the young playoffs yet.

Maybe it’s a close second…

What is this failure saying?

My hatred for Tony Parker, is well documented.

Thanks to Odenized for posting this clip from last night’s TNT broadcast of the Spurs & Suns.

Chew – Meigh – Monk?

What?

I love how Inspector Chuck immediately got on Cybelle the French Camera Femme’s case

(Why would he miss her, if he’s gonna see her later? You tryin’ to pull somethin’ over on Sherlock Chuck, miss?)

…and then he decided to call Kenny and Ernie dumbasses. Because Sir Charles is all about high comedy.

Then, he calls the Cybelle crazy in Spanish. Ernie furrows his papers, wishes he could get the last few minutes of his life back.

San Antone went up 2-0 on Phoenix. My prediction for the rest of the series : much more Barkley nonsense.

Toss the Burner: Thursday, March 6

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Got into one of those debates that men love to get into with women…whose on your list?

This conversation allows everyone to suspend restraint and toe the line (here it is…and you just crossed it). Frrrreak Nasty, indeed.

My overall numero uno has been and will remain…

I realize Eva is a little pase (which is French for not as readily available on certain internet destinations as she used to be) of a pick these days. Let me assure you, it is with good reason…

See this French Mother F*cker right here. Him and I have the same Birthday, exactly one year apart.

Look at what he’s got, now look at me….

It’s a sad state of affairs. Since this is a family site, let me say this: Life is not fair kids. Not fair.
